How Buddhism and Tantra Meet Somatic Healing in My Personal Journey

From the vibrant streets of Brazil to the sunny shores of Miami Beach, my path has been anything but ordinary.
I was born in Brazil, where the rhythms of life pulse with energy and warmth.
Later, I trained as a Licensed Massage Therapist in Florida (FL LMT #MA109441), diving deep into the healing power of touch.
I had been practicing Buddhism every day for years — and when Tantra arrived in my life, everything suddenly made sense. I practice the Buddhism of Nichiren Daishonin, which has profoundly influenced my spiritual journey.

Two ancient paths, one truth — Buddhism taught me presence, Tantra taught me embodiment.
Together, they transformed my understanding of healing and now shape everything I bring to my work at Integrative Massage Miami.
(The full story of how Tantra found me — that is a blog post for another day.)

Discovering Presence Through Buddhism
I was raised in Buddhism by my mother, the most important person in my life.
She brought presence, mindfulness, and compassion into our home as a way of living, not just a philosophy.
So when Tantra showed up in my life, it didn't feel foreign.
It felt familiar.
Like something I had always known but hadn't yet had a name for. It clicked — slowly, quietly, the way real things do. Not all at once. Little by little.
Each practice builds on the last.
Each layer reveals the next. Buddhism had already taught me to be still.
Tantra simply said — Now feel.
Osho — whose teachings have always been a bridge between Buddhism and Tantra — once said:
"Buddhism is not a religion.
It is a science of the mind."
This resonated deeply with me.
Not as an idea.
As a lived experience.
Buddhism is about observing the mind without judgment, understanding the nature of suffering, and finding peace within.
It is a practice of presence that opens the door to healing.
And in my massage therapy work, that presence is everything.
When I am fully present with a client — not thinking, not planning, not fixing — I can sense the subtle tensions and blockages in their body.
That awareness, cultivated first at home with my mother, deepened through years of meditation, and refined through clinical training — is what allows me to guide the healing process with care, precision, and love.
Embodiment Through Tantra
While Buddhism taught me presence, Tantra introduced me to embodiment. Tantra is often misunderstood, but at its core, it is about embracing the body and life fully. It invites us to experience our senses, emotions, and energy without shame or fear.
Osho described Tantra as “the art of love, the art of living, the art of being.”
It is a path that celebrates the body as a sacred temple. Through Tantra, I learned to honor the body’s wisdom and to work with its energy in healing.
This approach complements my massage therapy by adding a layer of somatic awareness. Tantra encourages deep connection with the body’s sensations and breath, which supports nervous system healing and emotional release.
The Meeting Point: Somatic Healing
Somatic healing is where Buddhism and Tantra come together in my practice — a body-centered approach that integrates mindfulness, breathwork, and energy awareness to support healing on all levels.
A profound turning point came through the teaching of Fábio Nirvano, Somatic Tantra Teacher, Kundalini Facilitator, and creator of the KAW Method in Brazil.
Through his guidance at Espaço Vila Madalena in São Paulo, I began to understand the body not just as a physical structure, but as a living field of energy, memory, and intelligence.
My practice is also deeply inspired by the work of Evandro Palma — psychologist, somatic bodywork therapist, and founder of Espaço Vila Madalena — and Dra. Andrea Dell'Aquila, physiotherapist and specialist in Sexual Therapy and Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation.
Their precision, compassion, and devotion to the body as a whole system continue to shape everything I bring to my work.
Together with inspiration of the Deva Nishok Method — integrating somatic bodywork, breathwork, and nervous system healing — these teachings deepened my understanding of something profound: The body holds what the mind has long forgotten.
And gentle, mindful, intentional touch can begin to release it.
This is what I bring to every session at Integrative Massage Miami.
Whether you are carrying chronic stress, emotional fatigue, burnout, or the weight of a major life transition, somatic healing offers a path back to balance, vitality, and the body you have always lived in but may have forgotten how to feel.
Breathwork and Nervous System Healing
Breath is a powerful tool in both Buddhist meditation and Tantra. It connects us to the present moment and influences our nervous system directly.
In my practice, I guide clients through breathwork exercises that calm the nervous system and open the body’s energy channels. This work supports the release of tension and emotional blocks, creating space for healing and transformation.
Nervous system healing is especially important for those experiencing anxiety or burnout. By tuning into the breath and body sensations, clients learn to regulate their stress responses and find a sense of safety within themselves.
Integrating These Paths in Miami Beach
Miami Beach is a vibrant, diverse place where many people seek healing and connection. My work here at Integrative Massage Miami reflects the blend of cultures and traditions that make this city unique.
I offer licensed therapeutic massage combined with somatic tantra practices inspired by my mentors in Brazil. This integrative approach supports burned-out professionals, couples seeking deeper connection, and LGBTQIA+ individuals looking for an inclusive wellness space.
By bringing together Buddhism’s presence and Tantra’s embodiment, I help clients come home to their bodies and find peace in the present moment.

A Personal Reflection
My journey from Brazil to Miami, from massage therapy to somatic tantra coaching, has been a path of discovery and healing. Buddhism taught me to be present with whatever arises. Tantra showed me how to embody life fully and joyfully.
Together, these paths have shaped my approach to healing. They remind me that the body is not just a machine but a living, breathing expression of our inner world.
If you are feeling disconnected, overwhelmed, or stuck, know that healing is possible. It begins with presence and a deep connection to your body.
Come Home to Your Body
Healing is not about fixing something broken.
It is about coming home to yourself, to your body, and to the present moment. Through somatic healing, breathwork, and the wisdom of Buddhism and Tantra, you can find that home.
If you are in Miami Beach or anywhere in the world, I invite you to explore this path with me. Together, we can support your journey toward balance, embodiment, and peace.
"Come home to your body."
